About
Built for the part of publishing nobody enjoys
PublishFit exists because preparing images for the web is still more tedious than it should be — and it doesn't need to be.
What PublishFit is
PublishFit is a set of free, browser-based tools that resize, compress, and convert images for publishing — WordPress featured images, web-ready file sizes, and bulk format conversion. Every tool runs entirely on your device. Nothing you upload is ever sent to a server.
Why it exists
I've spent years working with WordPress, SEO, and content publishing — and the same small task kept eating time every single week: getting an image to the right size, the right format, and under the file-size limit a theme or platform expects. Existing tools solve pieces of this — a compressor here, a converter there — but none of them start from the question that actually matters: where is this image going?
PublishFit starts there instead. Tell it the destination, and it handles the dimensions, format, and compression automatically.
Why it's free and runs in your browser
Two decisions, one reason: respect for your time and your files. Running entirely in the browser means your images never leave your device — nothing to upload, nothing to wait on, nothing stored anywhere. It's free because the tools that solve small, repetitive tasks like this shouldn't require an account or a subscription just to resize a photo.
What we believe
- Privacy is a default, not a setting. Your files are yours. PublishFit never sees them.
- Speed is respect for your time. A tool that makes you wait for something this simple has failed at its one job.
- Simple beats feature-heavy. PublishFit does a small number of things well rather than a large number of things adequately.
What's next
PublishFit currently offers three tools, with more on the way — each one built around a real, specific publishing task rather than added just to grow a list. If there's a tool you wish existed, get in touch — that's genuinely how the roadmap gets decided.
